The Sport and Leisure History Seminar takes place at 17:15 on Mondays fortnightly, at the Institute of Historical Research in London. The purpose of this seminar group is to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of leading edge research in the history of sport and leisure and its relationship with wider cultural, social and political issues, covering a vast selection of nations and periods, from antiquity to the present. The peer-reviewed, international e-journal of the Hospitality, Leisure, Sport & Tourism Network. JoHLSTE is published twice a year in the Spring and Autumn and is freely available via this website. This e-journal aims to promote, enhance and disseminate research, good practice and innovation in all aspects of education in the hospitality, leisure, sport and tourism subject areas. It is also hoped that, as a freely available, peer-reviewed publication, it will encourage greater understanding, links and collaboration across the subject areas.

This site has been created by Bill Martin and Sandra Mason of Leisure Consultants to provide a new gateway to leisure activities. It offers advice and general information on almost 100 different leisure activities, covering active sports, arts and crafts, hobbies and pastimes, learning in free time, and volunteering. For all the different ways of using free time, people can find out exactly what the activity is, what you need to do it, how to get started, and where to find out more. A choice system on the site helps people to select those activities that suit their particular preferences.
