Social Programme

Early Arrivers --- Monday July 7

Delegates who arrive in Liverpool on the night before the conference are warmly invited to meet for an informal gathering (from 8pm) at the famous and easily recognised Philharmonic Public House. http://ultimatepubguide.com/pubs/info.phtml?pub_id=271

Mersey Ferry --- Tuesday July 8

There's no better way to experience the essence of Liverpool & Merseyside than from the deck of the famous Mersey Ferry. We invite you to join us on a 2 hour guided tour across this most recognisable water front. The tour will include a buffet meal.

Gala Dinner --- Wednesday July 9

The venue for this event is a city centre Holiday Inn Hotel. Taylor & Francis, the publishers of the LSA's journal LEISURE STUDIES, will be sponsoring a drinks reception prior to the evening, when you can enjoy a live 'Beatles' tribute band and disco, listening and dancing the night away.

About Liverpool

In its year as European Capital of Culture, Liverpool offers a variety of interesting things to do.

The following two websites offer guides of 'whats on' : www.visitliverpool.com and www.liverpool.com.

The BBC are supporting the Capital of Culture with the web site www.bbc.com/liverpool --- worth visiting to get the local news and updated on the year.
