Festival
Theatre |
|
On the first conference
evening a drinks reception will be held in the Johnnie Walker Foyer of
the Festival
Theatre. This event is
sponsored by the Centre for Festival and Event Management at
Napier University and will include the official launch of the
Centre.
Delegates
will be whisked away from Craiglockhart Campus to sample the
delights of Edinburgh's famous Festival Theatre. There they will
be greeted with a glass of fizz, followed by a sumptuous array
of canapés. These are not just little tasty morselsthese
are substantial canapés including Achiltibuie Whisky-smoked
Salmon Blinis with Sour Cream and Dill, Drop Scones with Whipped
Cream and Blueberrie, Mini Yorkshire Puddings with Rare Beef
Fillet and Creamed Horseradish, Stilton and Red Onion Marmalade
Crostini and Beetroot Muffins with Herb Goats! These will be
accompanied by a selection of delicious wines to encourage delegates
to relax and network.
Once
the event finishes at 8 delegates are well located to explore
the Old Town or head into the centre of Edinburgh. A range of
well-priced restaurants are nearby for those who might still
be a little hungry, though we doubt this will be the case! Delegates
will also be well located to head back to their accommodation
if they wish ~ with the main conference hotels and flats within
an easy 5 minute walk. |
|

City Chambers |
|
This second evening
of the conference is sponsored by the City of Edinburgh Council.
Delegates will be welcomed to the City by the Lord Provost during
an evening at the City
Chambers on the Royal Mile.
These historic rooms afford great views of Princes Street and
to the River Forth, while a jazz band will create a relaxed atmosphere.
A
two course finger buffet with a contemporary flavour including
strawberries dipped in chocolate and fruit kebabs will be accompanied
by Fair Trade wine. The event will finish by 10pm, allowing delegates
to either continue their experience of Edinburgh's nightlife
or retire!
The
City Chambers are well located to allow delegates to head back
to their accommodation or continue socialising, with the bars
of George Street only 10 minutes walk and main conference accommodation
within 5 minutes. |
