CALL for Postgraduate Open Session
Participants
The organisers of the LSA 2005
Conference are reviving the occasional LSA tradition of including
an open session within the conference for postgraduate student
presentations.
This session is intended to provide
a supportive opportunity for postgrad students in leisure studies
to present their work and to deal with questions from the floor.
Constructive feedback will be provided afterwards, if the presenter
so wishes. The situation will be professionally conducted but
informal, ideal for both experienced students and those who may
have little or no experience of academic conferences.
Participants need not address
the conference theme and may cover leisure studies-related theory,
method or both, or report on work in progress rather than results.
Presentations may consider tourism, sport, leisure education,
gender, management, geography and so on.
"Slots" are 20 minutes
for presentation and discussion.
Post-grad sessions will be chaired
by Professor Diana Woodward, University Director of Research
at Napier University.
Students' own Supervisors are
encouraged to attend.
Registration for Post-Grad sessions
(students and supervisors) is offered at an extremely favourable
rate.
